The Ministry of Care The Parish has an elaborate Ministry of Care operating for the past two years. Ministry of Care attends to the needy in the Community in general, but places special emphasis on our homebound parishioners. Twice a week meals are prepared and served to those in need of food. Once a week cooked meal is taken to the homebound parishioners in an effort to share with them our blessings in life, and as a way of showing our oneness in Christ. Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion Our Parish boasts of well-trained and committed Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion, whose weekly visits to the homebound parishioners are appreciated by the homebound and their family members. It must be noted that their ministry, and the witness of our Christian vocation through the outreach ministries in general, has brought back lapsed members and has made them active in the life of the Church once again. St. Patrick's Youth Fellowship Our Youth Fellowship is not simply an association of young people who socialize and spend time together. Instead, these youngsters recognize their vocation to become Disciples of Christ makes them witness to Christ with their lives. That is why we aim to train and enable our youth Fellowship play a serious part in reaching out to our parishioners who are prevented from worshipping with us due to old age or sickness by visiting with them and praying with them. St. Vincent de Paul Society St. Patrick's has a vibrant St. Vincent de Paul Society with a membership of 15. Their ministry of visitation to the suffering and the sick, their outreach to the neediest through personalized assistance suited to the needs of the beneficiaries and their silent witnessing of Christian Charity are of tremendous value to the life of the Parish. Other Outreach Activities Our Parish is conscious of the poverty of our people, and constantly seeks to remedy their suffering when possible. Recognizing the need for medical care for the many golden agers in our community, we are in the process of setting up a health clinic with assistance from Food For the Poor, which would help provide medical attention to our Golden Agers who at present number about 65. |
